GST Calendar › GST due dates
GST return due dates explained
Which GST returns you file, and when, depends on how you are registered. Here is every regular date, as of 5 November 2026, with the rule it comes from. The calendar shows only the ones that apply to you.
Regular taxpayers filing every month
| Return | What it is | Due |
|---|---|---|
| GSTR-1 | Details of your sales (outward supplies): each B2B invoice, B2C totals, credit and debit notes, HSN summary. | 11th of the next month (CGST rule 59) |
| GSTR-3B | Summary return: tax on sales, input tax credit, and the tax you pay in cash. | 20th of the next month (CGST rule 61) |
Example: sales made in October 2026 go in GSTR-1 by 11 November 2026 and GSTR-3B by 20 November 2026. The tax in GSTR-3B is paid by the same date.
Since the July 2025 tax period, the tax on sales in GSTR-3B (table 3) is filled from your GSTR-1 and can't be changed in GSTR-3B itself. A mistake is corrected in GSTR-1A before GSTR-3B is filed, or in a later GSTR-1. So file GSTR-1 correctly and on time.
Quarterly filers under QRMP
A business with aggregate turnover up to ₹5 crore can choose the QRMP scheme: returns every quarter, tax every month.
| What | Months 1 and 2 of a quarter | After the quarter |
|---|---|---|
| Sales details | IFF (optional, for B2B invoices) by the 13th of the next month | GSTR-1 by the 13th |
| Tax payment | PMT-06 challan by the 25th of the next month | With GSTR-3B |
| GSTR-3B | none | 22nd or 24th, by state |
See QRMP scheme for the state list and how much tax to pay each month.
Composition scheme
- CMP-08: a statement of the tax you pay each quarter, by the 18th of the month after the quarter (18 July, 18 October, 18 January, 18 April).
- GSTR-4: the yearly return, by 30 June after the financial year (for FY 2024-25 onwards, Notification 12/2024-Central Tax; it was 30 April before).
Annual return
GSTR-9 is due by 31 December after the financial year (for FY 2025-26: 31 December 2026). From FY 2024-25 a business whose aggregate turnover is up to ₹2 crore does not have to file it (Notification 15/2025-Central Tax). GSTR-9C, a self-certified reconciliation, is filed with it when aggregate turnover is above ₹5 crore.
Special returns
- GSTR-7: government departments and others who deduct GST TDS: 10th of the next month.
- GSTR-8: e-commerce operators who collect GST TCS: 10th of the next month.
Sundays and holidays
The rules do not move a GST due date because it falls on a Sunday or a holiday. When the government extends a date, it does so by a notification, sometimes only for some states, and the portal shows it on its news page. Our calendar marks a date that falls on a Sunday so you can finish a day early.
Next step
Open the calendar, pick how you file, and add the dates to your phone. To work out a return from your saved bills, use GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B.
